I used to be on my feet all the time and I used to wear flat shoes with no arch support. I have worked in a lot of jobs that require a lot of walking: security guard, car sales, and warehouse jobs with concrete floors. In time my feet became very painful to walk on. I thought it was because I'm a big guy and overweight that my feet hurt all the time. I've been to several doctors over the years who told me I had heel spurs in both feet. I have received at least three cortisone shots in my right foot to help me with the pain. The shot is just a temporary fix and is almost more painful than the heel spur itself. It made me scream like a little girl the last time it was done. I sometimes had to use a cane because the pain was so intense that I had a difficult time walking. My doctor told me I have absolutely no arch in either foot, and the top of my foot was crushing in on itself. He made me some arch supports cast from impressions of my feet. That out-of-pocket expense was around $500.00. He told me my feet were so bad, I needed to buy better quality shoes like Reebok and Nike, and to replace them every three to four months because my feet would obliterate the shoe's arch by that time, and I needed to keep a good arch support for my feet.

Every morning after waking up I would have to massage my heels and use a cane to get to the bathroom five to ten feet away. This was the norm until I walked into Springboard, a Z-CoiL® store in Vancouver, for the first time. I was referred by a friend I work with who told me great things about these shoes. He gave me a card and I looked them up on the Web. Of course I was a skeptic, believing it to be too good to be true, but after reading the testimonies for myself, I had to check it out. I walked into the store with my wife and met Richard Kimbell, who had me in a pair of shoes in no time flat. After seeing his compassion for people like myself, with problems like mine, I realized this was not a joke or a scam in any way. After a few minutes of walking around in the new shoes, I noticed a difference. My feet did feel better, and I did not want to take the shoes off, but Richard needed to adjust them to fit me better. While I was waiting, a few people came in that were already on his testimonial wall. I asked them about the pros and cons of the shoes. I never heard one negative comment; all were positive. I've just got to say this is the best customer service I have ever experienced.

After about four months of walking in these shoes, I no longer have pain whatsoever in my feet. I can take walks with my wife again and not feel I need to sit down every 20 feet or so. I have not used the insoles my doctor sold me or my cane since buying these wonderful shoes. Everyone that asks me now about these Z-CoiL® shoes gets my story about how great they have worked for me. I even approach people that look like they have problems walking and tell them about the shoes.

I just bought my second pair and am about to buy my third. Since the shoes last so long, I just buy different styles. I will never buy a different brand of shoes again. No one can beat the comfort of these shoes, and I have never experienced the kind of excellent customer service as with Richard and his staff.

My name is Daniel Haycock and I am 32 years old. I live in Lincoln, Nebraska, and work in a factory. On September 27, 2000, I worked at a roofing supply company in Boise, Idaho. On that day, I was 24 feet off the ground on a hydraulic lift-bed truck unloading roofing tile onto a roof. I fell off the edge of the truck, fell 24 feet, and landed on my feet onto a hard-packed frozen dirt driveway. As a result of the fall, I shattered my ankle (broke the fibula in half, split the tibia up the center, and crushed the medial maliosis, destroying ligaments, cartilage, and tendons.) The E.R. doctor planned to amputate my right foot, but instead had a specialist in the field put 12 screws and a rod in my ankle.

For five years, I have struggled so much with pain that I have a standing order from my doctor for Celebrex^® and Vicoden^®. For years I have been taking 400 mg of Celebrex^® per day, which is twice the recommended daily dose. I have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on orthotics, Nike shoes with little springs in the back, and to my dismay I still hurt!!

I work on a hard, concrete floor eight or nine hours per day and at times having to grit my teeth as I walk because my ankles hurt so much! There have been a few days I have walked out of the plant at the end of the week with tears in my eyes because it hurt so much to take another step. I became depressed and so pain-ridden that I couldn't even play with my kids or go to the mall on my days off.

BUT NOT ANYMORE! Thanks to my new Z-CoiL^® shoes that my wife bought me in Omaha, Nebraska, for Father's Day. Z-CoiL has given me pain-free days, energy, and ability. These shoes have become my lifesaver. I have suffered from plantar fasciitis for over a year. I'd sit down and take off my shoes in the evening, but couldn't get back up to walk without being in a great deal of pain-burning, stinging sensations in both my feet. I work in the medical field and am on my feet for up to 16 hours a day. I had tried expensive orthotics and was even put in a walking boot, but nothing helped.

I first saw some nurses at work wearing them and then while in Gatlinburg, TN, I saw them in a window and went and tried a pair on. WOW!!! What a difference. I've been wearing them ever since. Glory, Glory, Glory. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. Our Team Trinity found the shoes to be a life-saver in the 3-day, 50-mile closer to a Cure Multiple Sclerosis challenge walk. We started the walk with our feet in good condition and ended the 50-mile walk with our feet in excellent condition. We walked on pavement, concrete, gravel, sand, water, uphill, downhill, around curves, through the woods, and back. Our feet kept going and going and going.

People don't normally think of shoes stopping pain--more likely causing it--but let me tell you!! I had a pair of Z-CoiL^® shoes given to me as a Christmas gift. Little did I know my health would be the real gift.Within the next month, my arthritis pain stopped. I still took the medicine until January 23, 2005, when I broke my ankle (no fault of the shoes). They took me off all my medication and I noticed I still didn't hurt. When I first went in for the shoes, I was all bent over and in pain. Now I am standing straight and tall and NO PAIN.

I am a jeweler and I am on my feet 12 to 14 hours a day, so you can tell how much I appreciate shoes that relieve pain, rather than cause it.

I was told my shoes were not very pretty and I said, "Yes, but my feet and legs and back don't hurt like yours do." I get to wear jeans at work and they look just fine.

Two-and-a-half years ago I had a 1,500 lb. steel plate fall on me and shatter my left heel and ankle. I have had two surgeries-the latest being two years ago, and I have walked with a cane ever since. That is, until I got my Z-CoiL^® shoes.

 I discovered Z-CoiL^® shoes about three years ago and have since purchased four pairs. If and when you come out with a white sandal, I will own five pairs! I own the tan and black sandals, white tennis shoes, and black Mary Janes. They go with anything I wear.

I discovered Z-CoiL^® footwear after a desperate search for pain relief. I was diagnosed with bone spurs in both heels and arthritis in my knees and ankles about 10 years ago. Until I found Z-CoiL^® shoes, I couldn't walk very far, and what little walking I did was with a limp. Anytime I went somewhere with my family that required a lot of walking, my children would constantly ask how I was, since they knew I was in a lot of pain. Once, while in Disneyland, they rented a wheelchair for me. I was 50 years old at the time and so sad that I couldn't walk where I wanted or for as long as I wanted.  Simply Amazing! I CAN WALK AGAIN! Before I got my Z-CoiL® shoes, I had to get a wheelchair just for simple shopping visits. I'm only 18! How embarrassing. Now when I go out wearing my Z-CoiL® shoes, I get compliments about how cool my shoes are and I feel as if I can walk for an eternity! My pain medication intake has greatly decreased and I finally feel and look my age.

Since turning 14, I have had two back surgeries and six back injections and was facing a third back surgery to fix a ruptured disc. I have a genetic disc disorder and my spinal discs herniate and rupture about every two years. Now no doctor will touch me because I'm so young and have already had too much work done.  BOSTON MARATHON in Z-CoiL^® Shoes

The Boston Marathon, every distance runner's dream. Well, I finally made it. Yes, I did have to wait for my age to catch up with my abilities. Turned 60, which means I needed a 4-hour time to qualify for Boston. Some might say anyone can go 26.2 miles in 4 hours, but go ahead, give it a try. I had never run four hours in any previous marathon, but I knew it was possible, especially with help of a running friend who became my personal trainer.

Now the bad news. After I ran the St. George marathon in October in 3:55 to qualify for Boston, I had a minor groin injury in December and lost most of the month. Then [I had] a lot of travel and conflicts in January. Got serious about training in February, and guess what? Hurt my foot/heel. At first, the doctor thought it was plantar fasciitis, but then my family doctor thought it was a bruised heel. Either way, the only training it allowed was some stationary bike riding, but not much. Couldn't believe it, ten years in preparation with no major injuries, except minor knee surgery, and now ready for Boston and hurt.

As a part of trying to recuperate from the foot injury, my doctor had recommended a shoe called Z-CoiL^® that would save the day. I really didn't think I could finish the race, but since my friend was going, I decided to go and at worst I would get a better understanding of Boston, do a few miles and drop out, but be better prepared to go back next year.

These shoes saved the day for my heel. Well, at least allowed me to do a walk/run and finish the race. Pretty wild?

Didn't make my 4 hours, but made it. Foot hurt, but it was worth it. Without the [Z-CoiL^® shoes] I would never have been able to finish. Really excited about how it will be next year when, hopefully, it will be well.

My foot is still healing, so whenever I don't wear my [Z-CoiL^® shoes] the pain level goes way up. I am so very thankful to Z-CoiL. I plan to continue wearing my [Z-CoiL^® footwear] for some of my training runs when my foot is back to normal. With it, I hope to get at least ten more years of running.

  As recently as 11 months ago, I was having severe problems with arthritis in both knees-so much so that I could barely get through a day at work. I work in retail, which requires being on my feet all day. I was also about forty pounds overweight, which my doctor advised was adding more to my problems. With all that pain, it was hard to exercise and thus all the more difficult to lose weight.

I read an article in our local paper about [Z-CoiL^® footwear] and around the end of May 2004, I went to Spring Action Footwear in Overland Park to try a pair. I made the purchase and after wearing the shoes for a couple of weeks, I found the pain and stiffness had lessened enough that I could start walking on a regular basis again-at first just a little, and then more frequently and on longer walks.

Since the end of August, I have lost 59 pounds. I had to make some big changes in my eating habits. Weight Watchers^® was a big help with that. They helped me see that the increase in exercise has been the piece that was missing in any prior efforts to lose weight. I could not have done that without my Z-CoiL^® shoes.

Now I even lightly jog for a part of my walking time five to six days per week. I'm healthier now than I was in my 20's and the arthritis is a non-issue. I tell everyone that [Z-CoiL^® shoes] were the best thing I ever did for myself.

 I just want to say thank you so much for making such wonderful shoes. I am 50 years old and broke my right knee in 1979. I just had a partial knee replacement last year, and I had been taking 20 mg. of Bextra® every day since my last surgery. I bought a pair of Cloudwalkers about three weeks ago from Gary Grubbs of Z Kicks and I have not had one pill since then. These shoes really work. I will have to have a full knee replacement in about 10 years, but now with these shoes I hope that it will be later than that. The only time my leg hurts now is when I get home, take my shoes off, and go barefooted around the house on concrete floors. I plan on buying a pair of clogs to wear around the house. So thanks again for what you have done for me and for others.

It has been years since I have stood on one foot, but I am now standing on my bad knee/leg thanks to Z-CoiL.

 I thought my friend from Arizona was becoming a great storyteller when she told me about her new Z-CoiLs. I listened as a friend would and just filed the information in the back of my mind. She kept asking me if I had tried Z-CoiLs yet, and even said she was going back for pair #2.

After years of working in a law office, when ladies dressed in suits and high heels, my feet began to tell on me. I left the law office and trained in home care to take care of my mother, which I did for a number of years. My feet and knees paid the price! After my mom passed away, I decided to stay in this special care program and work for others. I enjoyed it very much, but my feet and knees were getting progressively worse.

In the mornings I would have to hold onto the bed and dresser or the wall just to be able to stand. Each step was so painful that I was in tears before I made it to the kitchen to make coffee. I was under a doctor's care and had to give up walking, which is a big plus in my weight loss program. Each day at work I was in constant pain, and each day I came home in tears. I was constantly on pain medication just to be able to function. Months of pain were wearing my body and my spirit down.

One day my friend called and said, "I am telling you that you won't believe how they would help." Amidst a flow of tears, I said, "I'll call tomorrow, as it sure can't hurt." I found out that a local dealer was just a few miles from my home. That call to Mr. Jamie Dick at Foot RX in Abingdon, VA, was one of the most life-changing calls I ever made.

I met Jamie and was fitted with a pair of Freedom 2000s, white on white. He was so professional and courteous and one of the most informed people representing a particular product that I have ever met. He answered all my questions. I was not rushed or made to feel like I was taking up his time.

From step one, I could tell a difference. The first day I wore my Z-CoiLs to work I cried again, but this time I cried tears of joy. It was the first time in a very long time I was free from pain. I have improved each day and recently walked 17 miles on a picture-taking excursion without a single pain. I enjoy life, I enjoy the outdoors, and I enjoy walking. At 58, I am not ready for a rocking chair.

Yesterday I went back to visit Jamie, to talk to him and thank him for his great part in changing my life. My use of pain medication has nearly ended, and I now smile instead of cry. My granddaughter says wearing Z-CoiLs has even improved my attitude.

P.S. I just picked up my second pair of Z-CoiLs, the Cloudwalkers, and have my request in for a pair of sandals in the Spring!

 After reading the recent Baltimore Sun story about Z-CoiL shoes, my wife Joann and I decided to visit Coil Heaven in Laurel, Maryland, and see what the fuss was about. I mark that down as one of the wisest decisions we have ever made. I am 62 years old with a bum knee, and in the past year was diagnosed as having a herniated disc that was pressing against the sciatic nerve and causing me several problems, such as numbness and at times loss of function in my right calf. My wife has had back problems at times, which would result in her being required to take pain pills and rest. Her biggest problem was standing on her feet over 1/2 hour and walking any distances. This is where Z-CoiL footwear comes into the picture.

Once we entered Coil Heaven we were greeted by the most energetic, professional and knowledgeable sales persons I have ever met. Ms. Kathryn Jo Ottman explained the concept and design of these shoes and showed us several pairs and styles. We tried several pairs on and walked around to test them. To make a long story short, these shoes are the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever had on my feet. Since I have been wearing them, I have not had a single problem with my back, knees or feet. I now walk everywhere and just hate to take them off for the night. My wife is ecstatic that she can now walk around our development with ease, stand on her feet for longer periods of time and no longer requires pain pills for her back.

These shoes are truly amazing, but to really give them a test, my wife and I visited our grandchildren in Ocean City last week. Now you know when you have two little boys, one three and the other five, you must walk the boardwalk. Not only did we walk the length of the boardwalk, but at times carried one or both grandchildren. We even outlasted my daughter and son-in-law. All this because of these shoes. They are absolutely wonderful and I will never give them up. My wife loves them so much she is going back to Coil Heaven to order the high tops for winter.

To add one more item to our satisfaction list is Ms. Kathryn Jo Ottman. What a delight to have met her. She truly believes in this product and it shows. I can honestly say we bought these shoes not only because they felt good on our feet at the store, but because Ms. Ottman just won us over.

 I absolutely love my Z-CoiLs! My doctor said I need a knee replacement and my Z-CoiLs are helping postpone that. I am a car dealer, and going to the auctions was getting impossible. With my Z-CoiLs I can be on my feet all day with no problem!!

I work for a major home improvement retailer and for 45 years I have lived with scoliosis and more recently with arthritis in my back. Being on my feet for 8-10 hours a day was not helping my back pain and I was considering early retirement. Then one day a fellow associate in the store showed me the flier for Z-CoiLs. She had a pair and loved them. I had been buying 4-5 pairs of a major brand of work boots at $$$$ per pair a year; so I thought nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I looked up Z-CoiL on the web and found your store in Longmont, CO. I drove down and tried on a pair of the Hikers. I knew from the first step that these were the answer to my nagging back pain. I bought them and have been wearing them for work since. Lots of people look at them and want to know about them.

 As a practicing physician for the last 27 years, you could say that I am one who "stands on her own two feet." Literally, though, I have been standing on my feet for much longer, first as a medical student, then as an intern and a resident, and after 11 long years of medical education, my feet have continued to stand firm at the bedside of my patients. I entered my residency with a shoe size 9, and I finished my training with a hefty size 10. Endless hours on call, all of them mostly standing, finally led to a fallen arch. Now, in my mature years, I have become a wiser, more experienced physician - with painful feet. My left foot has post-traumatic arthritis, and I feel a deep, piercing pain in my right heel from plantar fasciitis.

One weekend about three months ago, I limped into a medical meeting in Houston in my most expensive European shoes, outfitted with a heel pad and an insert, both of which had become of little value towards alleviating my pain. As I dragged myself past the booths displaying various technological exhibits, I noticed a booth with some funny-looking shoes, and an even funnier name: "Cra-Z-CoiL." To my surprise, I saw a number of physicians lined up in front of the booth waiting to try on those shoes. I decided to join the line, hoping the wait wouldn't be too long, since standing was becoming increasingly unbearable. When my turn came, I chose a pair of black sneakers. I stepped into them and I began to walk, and I walked, and walked, and walked, like a toddler fascinated with her first steps. I told my husband, "Please pay the lady and ask her to pack up my Mephistos; I am not getting out of these shoes!" And I haven't. The next day I bought my second pair, the black clogs, and I have not used any of my (many) other pairs of shoes since.

Recently we spent almost three weeks in Germany, where I walked the almost exclusively historical pebbled roads all day long, secure and pain-free in my Z-CoiLs. I had to tell many Germans where to find information on these shoes, which really piqued their curiosity. I had four knee surgeries and two back surgeries and my hopes for relief were fading. Then I learned that I had severe degenerative osteoarthritis in my back and knees.

About a year and a half ago my daughter told me about Z-CoiLs. At first I was skeptical because they were weird looking and I thought they were a little expensive. I accidentally stumbled on the new store location in Traverse City. The minute I walked in I knew I was committed to at least try them on. The store staff was super friendly, the shoes were all over to try on and there was no pressure from anyone.

I spent about an hour and a half walking around the store and the Z-CoiLs felt great. I wanted to talk to my husband before buying them. After I took the shoes off and left the store, my feet felt like they were weighted down with lead and my knee pain was even more noticeable. I was sorry that I hadn't bought them but I knew I would be back.

Walking is one of my favorite activities. I was reaching the point where my knees hurt so much I was afraid I would have to give up walking up my favorite hill. It's hard to describe how beautiful it is, walking to the top of this hill and seeing all of Traverse City and both arms of the Grand Traverse Bay. The day I bought my Z-CoiLs I walked up that hill twice.

 Two weeks ago I bought my first pair of Z-CoiLs, last week I bought my second pair and next week I will buy my third. After four years of suffering from plantar fasciitis, I was spending hours a day taping and icing my feet. Two and a half years ago I was injured during an assault at my school restraining a student. I had a prior fusion at the L4-5 in 1998 due to a similar incident. After a year of recovery I felt that my life was back. After the second incident, my left lumbar area was sprained and I was basically back in the same boat as before. The despair was overwhelming and I have tried to seek every kind of help imaginable to get better. I've either been told it's hopeless, given heavy medication, and shuffled from one doctor to another, but mainly I've been told that it will only worsen. It left me listing terribly and it looked like I had a leg length discrepancy. This was due to the severe spasms in my back and over the last 2 1/2 years additional degenerative damage has occurred.

Six days ago I left a neurosurgeon's office where I had been referred and once again was coldly and flippantly told there was nothing except pain management and medications that would be of any good and that indeed my condition, which now included degenerative discs, would worsen.

My life prior to this was active. Now it is all I can do to go to work and make it home. When I left that office I broke down and sat in my car crying trying to think of a reason to live. That's how desperate I had become. This past Saturday I went to the Crazy Coil store in nearby Houston and bought a pair of your miracles. When I put them on my body became perfectly symmetrical for the first time since the assault. Even the clerk was amazed. I had just started a new PT program and no one I have talked to had heard of your shoes. Coupled with the PT I now know that I can look forward to living and not dying, as I have for so long. Had it not been for my mother seeing a small ad in the Tyler paper and telling me about them, I honestly don't know if I would be here today. Your product literally has saved my life and I'm spreading the news about them at every opportunity.

   I cannot tell you enough about the shoes.  I wore them all day  yesterday and  today at school.  It is now 6:45 pm and I have not taken them off yet.  I've had them on since 6 am.  My backache has gone away, my right foot has no pain whatsoever, and my left heel only has a little discomfort (my left heel was in severe pain).

   I never expected the shoes to be SO effective SO quickly.  I must admit I was a little skeptical, but I figured I had nothing to loose, except the pain.  And, I have not taken any meds.

   I did the treadmill yesterday and the shoes were phenomenal.

   I can't believe there has been such an easy and quick solution to all the pain I've been having for the last 2 years.  My only concern is that I will never again want to wear the other shoes.  Just the thought of having to undergo that pain again makes my hair stand on end.  Will I ever be able to use normal shoes again?

   Well David, I'll keep you posted on my progress. I feel so excited about the Z-coil that I feel like going out into the world spreading the good news.  Hope to be able to share my good fortune with other people in pain.

    I am a podiatrist in Minnesota. A few weeks ago a patient introduced me to the Z-CoiL shoe. I told my patient I'd be willing to try a pair for a month. So far, I'm quite impressed.

    I can't emphasize enough the number of patients I have seen in the past twenty years with lower extremity problems that could be attributed, at least in part, to their footwear. I am constantly on the lookout for innovations in footwear. The Z-CoiL concept appears to be a potential breakthrough after years of gimmicky modifications to (mostly) athletic shoes.     I just returned from Egypt. I was there for about 30 days and traveled the length of the country by train, boat and car. I walked constantly in the city's towns, the desert, up and down rock hills, and of course in and around the Pyramids, tombs, and temples through tons and tons of sand. The weather was quite hot. I took my Z-coil sandals because they were the most adjustable. I wore them every day. They were fabulous, I never tired because of my feet.     I have just purchased your Z-coiL Hiker and must say "praise the Lord!" I was injured 16 months ago in an accidental fall that crushed both my heels and disrupted the ankle joints.
